Young professional here. Barely escaped the cut from the reshape (pretty deep cut from my team), now the question is when Is a good time to jump? Some seniors told me that people tend to leave for a better salary/benefit right after a reorganization, when the market bounces back. The funny thing is that reshape started when the price was at $70, so it has already bounced back. Is it too late now? Is this different than the previous reorg? I have been keeping my eyes on the market, but i don’t see anything that catch my attention yet. This is my first reorg, so I want to hear from people who have been through this cycle before.

Best time? Yesterday
If you were Reshaped, you're likely fu---d: GTFO now, you're not passing go or collecting $200 anyway. If you were divested, collect your bonus and then GTFO.
@fzf1 lol what bonus?
Wait 'til you can pick up your bonus and GTFO as soon as possible. This company would rather you waste time on and worry about constant cuts and reorganization than actually doing the job for which they hired you. This company is a sh-t show.
If you are a white male, the time is now. The company is placing and promoting purely based on gender, race, sexuality. It’s happening everywhere and it’s disgusting. If you are a white male without an SE CEP consider your career at Shell over.
Leave whenever you have an acceptable offer in-hand.
A lot of people tend to leave after a reorganization because they were slotted into positions they don’t like, their new managers suck, or their desired career paths are no longer viable at the company.
Additionally, for most, a reorg resets the clock on the 4 year window, so it can feel like upward mobility has stalled. No one wants to be doing higher job grade work at lower job grade pay, but that tends to be how things shake out with Shell’s reorgs.
Does Shell actually match offers when staff are threatening to leave?

What does this have anything to do with OP is asking?
The purge at the top starting with BVB and Jessica is critical
I wouldn’t leave empty handed.
Network with your classmates from University etc., apply elsewhere and keep your options open.
If you do get an offer, ask Shell to match it. If you already know what ship you are jumping to, the decision will be easier.
In an ideal world you want to jump ship with an SVS check. So be prepared when the time inevitably comes again.
Also, if you’re planning to stay in O&G, private company outlooks are better than public ones.
Shell has great compensation ride it until the wheels fall off.
OP
This will be the first of many more reorganizations in your career. You need to make an assessment of your skills and how they fit into the company and also determine whether your boss and his/her boss likes you. If you have two levels appreciating you then you generally have nothing to worry about. Just believe in yourself and you will do fine.
Get used to it. It has been my fourth reorg in 4 years and everything remains the same after all. Sometimes the purge is needed
