Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Which shops are subject to open back up?

Seeing alot more machinist and telectricians spots openings all over board. Heard south morrill nebraska is asking for more employees and they are using closed shop into offices for maintenance away crew. Any chance or rumors of opening back up and working on locomotives at that location. Maybe overhauls and maintenance would like to apply.

I thought that Morrill Nebraska shop was totally shut down and all equipment was auctioned off and dispersed?

I think upper management has just had a knee jerk reaction because they thought people would be lining up to come back. Reality is a bi--h, ain’t it! It turns out that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence for many of these people and Lance gave them such a sour taste of UP before they quit or were laid off. I truly envy the people I worked with who have found life better on the outside. I’ve got over twenty in my craft and can’t even get a decent shift/ days off or God forbid a holiday off once in a while!

I really wouldn't expect too much or get your hopes up. They may be calling some folks back, but for how long? It's a nice thought that some are getting there jobs back, but I refuse to trust that company.
