So after retirements and layoffs. Is the plan to gut all the seasoned employees? Everyone seems new, entire new departments on a whim.....

They need to get rid of many of the managers. That’s the only ones they are keeping and they are running good employees off. Also How many Vice Presidents do we need?
Used to be, for a successful company, you hired good people and provided a clear vision. Then, those good people executed their own strategy and planning to achieve the vision. In stead we have all these central groups…. I.e supply chain. It’s good to have some, just not the empire builders Apache has. It all boils down to leadership and Apache’s is weak.
Start with everyone with 'strategy' or 'planning' in their title!
Old Apache? That was gone YEARS AGO!
If they really want the most cost-effective approach, they need to offer a voluntary severance to every single employee. Save money paying consultants to tell you whom to fire and just let people leave. Even with severance it’s way cheaper, and bo-m. G&A reduced, company streamlined, onward to whatever stupid initiative they come up with next.
