I always wanted to get promotion and I worked very hard to get it. When I finally achieved that, it became clear to me that promotion at Cengage is not a great luck. Ok, I have a higher pay, but I have so much more work and so much more responsibility that it’s not worth it at all. Now it’s pretty clear to me why some people left shortly after they got a promotion. Hopefully this promotion will help me to get a better job somewhere else...

My salary increases that came with promotions at Cengage were a joke relative to the additional work they entailed. They just kept throwing more titles on top of already ridiculous titles. Cengage is the only company I have seen the title Executive Manager. But, yes, the progression on your resume is a good look when applying outside of the company.
