I heard that some employees who are about to retire have been laid off.
Is it possible that their loyal employees are so expensive that they have to make such desperate moves and lay off people waiting for retirement??? Terrible. Everyone should run away from here and not look back.

I would guess they were packaged out to avoid age discrimination lawsuits. Sign the package, take the money and run as fast and as far away as possible!

What do you expect from a company that wants young cheap labor?
Staples competition is the same way, and in retail I found that store managers and district managers either hire their buddies or hire what my district manager called "band-aids" that work until they find a replacement then make that "band-aids" work life miserable til they leave.
In my opinion this is discrimination but they seem to get away with it by being a scummy company that no one expects better from.
