Thread regarding Allscripts layoffs

I like working at Allscripts

Have worked here for 20 years and I sure as he-l would have left if I did not like it. Am always very sad to see any of my friends and co-workers laid off and I wish that did not have to happen at all...but realize that must be done at times to shore up the bottom line. I am too busy to immerse myself in that ongoing drama of upper management...so pretty much ignore them. Middle management is great here - we have some super managers that strive to create a product our customers want - they are responsive and caring for the employees they manage and they try to keep us up to date. I really enjoy all my coworkers, all the support folks and especially the customers. More people that like working at Allscripts should post stuff here instead of the constant bi-----g. There is no oz - try to make your personal workspace the best it can be and your positive spirit will inspire you fellow mates.

C-Suite is compensated on quarterly earnings, not on real progress. As long as the te-t hasn't run dry, PB will be there with his "aww shucks, I'm just a farm boy" veneer. Farm boys know how to milk it.

I think you could like where you work at Allscripts, however, your management chain will depend on your happiness. I’ve had new senior management and am miserable and need to exercise my options like others have before. It’s amazing to me that just one bad apple can make an environment toxic. Company culture has not been one of my priorities in the past. I assure you that it has definitely moved up on my list.

Career choice in Allscripts? All positions in Allscripts are just individual boxes with NO outlined path or directions on how to advance to another box A career. Noway just a job yes. Ask you immediate manager ...and enjoy their looks and responses.

Good point. Each is in charge of their career. Either suck it up or move on.
Remember the 1980s and prior? You busted your keester, kept your yap shut, managers didn’t wear kid gloves and we dealt with it.
Today’s workforce is a bunch of whining Karens wanting to be coddled. Not sure why, did mommy coddle too much?
Ever notice it’s NOT foreign born associates acting like babies? Just sayin.

I liked working at Allscripts while I was there. Would go back for the right offer; even knowing what I was walking into. It’s a job; it’s not your identity. Never forget that

It's nice that you like your job but you should not criticize others who don't feel the same way. Their grievances are real even if you are not exposed to those same grievances. Be careful when you say you like your job because managers might seek you out thinking you're not doing enough or the work you are doing is too easy and look to give your job to someone else making less $.

You might want to stop drinking the koolaid. People were laid off to benefit PBs pockets. Good people were let go and their positions, as well as new positions went to India for cheaper, inexperienced labor.

OP, how did you stumble upon this site? In other words, what on Earth brought you here?

Are you male tall and white or female white thin and super cute? Sure there are some good middle managers, (though most have been turfed of quit) but they are hamstrung by upper managers greed and refusal to share the profits fairly.
