Thread regarding Conduent layoffs

Company Metrics

Time for Unix "SA's" to erase home directories. Immediate

Time for Unix "SA's" to restore home directories. Never ( No explanation, no backups )

Time to restore an Oracle Database. Never ( no valid backups within 5 months could be found )

Company telephone system goes down every few weeks.

Company help desk ticketing system just went down for 1 whole week.

Customer/Client hosted websites break every day.

Internal Network is overloaded.

Ethical:

Managers told their subordinates to falsely enter billable work time as usual into the time reporting system for a company initiated unpaid 1 week furlough last year, then upon return from furlough to fill out and sign a form attesting that you did not work during that period.

Telephone Statistics system was migrated to a new system and due to the total lack of planning, the critical client monthly reports were not available from the new system for over one whole year so a manager created the numbers themselves to get the client to "shut up".

Conduent falsely approved $2 billion in Texas Medicaid Dental Claims where Conduent was contracted by Texas to review claims for approval and payment by Texas Medicaid. Hundreds of claims would come in daily and Conduent was supposed to have teams of actual Dentists who would review and either approve or deny such claims. In reality Conduent had ONE dentist who could only review a few dozen claims per day, but had teams of High School minimum wage workers rubber stamp approve each and every claim that came through. Nobody went to jail.

Conduent does not pay its bills. Software licenses are allowed to expire causing major disruption in operations and are only eventually paid when client/customer complaints and contractual deadlines and penalties ensue. This is only done if "workarounds" (server date/time changes, rolling back servers to pre-expiration snapshots, server reboots) fail.

Compensation:

Token 1% annual pay raises ceased 4 years ago.

Company matching 401k was terminated 2 1/2 years ago and has only been recently "restored" on a discretionary basis to be determined.

Whether you have worked for the company for 20 years or 2 months, your severance pay is 2 weeks.
