Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

CVS

CVS is increasing their pay! $13 is their new minimum starting this month and they will be at 15 by next July! $15 is going to be their minimum for the people who work on the floor so it’ll be like 17-19 for their mgrs! I know CVS is different then Walgreens but at least they look like they got their cr-p together. Plus I’ve been with Walgreens for 3 years and I make 13.75 which is crazy. Thoughts?

Congratulations. Good luck in the new job! I would expect Walgreens to raise its starting wage by about 12 cents an hour in an effort to keep people and attract new talent.

I got the JOB!! 👋🏾 The SM said that the rate of 15 goes into affect July of next year. But he said he’ll give me 14 since I have experience. Also said that he will wait to train me to be a shift until the end of the year so he will pop another 8% above the $15 so it’ll be 16.20 by January. Leave now!!!! He also said a lot of people are leaving Walgreens for CVS because of that reason.

I agree!! I’m sure the best candidates for a CVS job will be Walgreens employees. So before those jobs gets filled I’m leaving. I make 13.50x35 hours a week so that’s 472.50 a week if I can get hire at CVS making 15 I’ll only have to work 31 hours to make the same amount. I’m out! Interview is Saturday morning 🙌🏾.

I'm pretty sure it's a flip of a coin which company is more of a h-ll-ho-e to work for but you might as well get paid more to be miserable in your job. Walgreens just doesn't get it. Now that jobs are plentiful, people have choices and they will vote with their feet.
