They don't care about the employee. Management makes statements such as: "We are a family", "stop and really look at what's important in life", "Step away when you need to get some rest".... Horse Hockey!
They don't give a damn about the employees. I have been there 5 years, and I've been lied to by my manager and their boss, had false information used for my review, no be apologies when I proved the information they had was false, been harassed and discriminated against because of my handicap,,,,,,

They're gone. That's what happened to all those pathologically loyal boomers/gen x ers/etc... and other corporate lackeys.

You are right. They do claim to advocate work-life balance for employees, but their actions say differently. They say they care, then they demand you take on more responsibilities, produce more work in less time, and do "just one more thing". Problem is some leaders forget to listen to their employees, they tend to forget who is assigned what, and how much we are already stretched in capacity.
