Thread regarding Sinclair Oil layoffs

Acquisition by HF will not bode well for Management and Senior Roles

Hi Sinclair people! As it was just announced that we are buying you, I thought you should know a thing or two.
Once all the details of the purchase are hammered out, the next thing to be looked at is the staff. Where most of the day to day Operations and Maintenance Personnel will be safe. the first thing HF will want to do is a cultural shift. At first nothing will change. but slowly you will start to see people moved to lesser roles or dismissed completely. As we know that Sinclair currently has a nepotism issue, and that those individuals have protected one another and helped to promote family. Not those that are actually qualified for the position that they are given. They have also promoted a do as we say atmosphere and a hostile work environment based on favoritism.
With that being said. Most hourly employees will keep their positions but may have to interview for said position. Also if you have had several absences short term or long term medical you may be dismissed with a severance package. If you have several performance reviews in your file that have been negative to no growth. You will be dismissed. If you work in the same department as a family member another position will be offered. If you refuse this offer you will be dismissed. I know that the press release said that the vast majority of employees will be invited to stay. Little secret for you here. In big boy cooperate world. That means more than 50% but less than 80% (this can vary company to company). The largest cuts coming from the salary group.
Now there is another way that this could all go as well. We could come in and make the change very quickly. Shutting the plant down 100%. while this shutdown is in place. everyone would be sent home and interviews with the new management scheduled. you would have to start from the very beginning as it is a new company you would be working for.

Look at that. They just laid off 96 in one day. And that was just round one. Good luck.

They did it when Holly bought out Frontier Refineries. With that said.....it was higher management that got released. Most of the hourly union got to keep their jobs. But now a lot of them have been let go in Cheyenne because of trying to go to biodiesel. Rumor has it that it isn’t working out so well and costing more than predicted and going back to what it was. ( just a rumor?????)
But, in large corporate buy outs. People lose their jobs for sure.

How could they do this to a community, let alone a person that has put years in with them? Carol H. must have passed or has become mentally incapacitated for this to happen. How dare Ross Mathews do this to us all!
