Thread regarding Sears layoffs

How many of those who still frequent this page work at Sears?

It seems that it's mostly former employees and misery-tourists.

Guilty as charged. However very little of interest is posted anymore. My main interest is seeing if the move to becoming a REIT instead of a retail business becomes a profitable business decision. Watching the crazy slow elimination of the retail outlets even as it becomes a skeleton of its former self is not by mistake and the potential for it to be a well played move has intrigued me.

when you are short for years via options, you are an investor

You're not an investor you're a trader. (Not that there is anything wrong with that.)

I'm not a former employee. I just come on here to get the latest information on store closings as a pastime. Care about Sears future? I'm pretty sure it has none. Now there are 19 practically empty stores remaining from a one time high in the thousands. The name may be used for something in the future, but the Sears that some people on here may have the nostalgia for has been gone for some time now. The old stand alone stores have or are being sold off just like their iconic brands were. Malls seem to be a thing of the past. I'm not a troll, but seriously what future would a person be dreaming of?

I'm still working for the company. I've been in Loss Prevention for the last 16 years. I'm thinking some of the disgruntled former employees on here are from some of the many internal theft cases I've uncovered.

Let's be clear. The current Sears in NOT Sears, Roebuck and Co. or even Sears Holding Corporation. It is Transformco, which purchased during bankruptcy the right to own and use the Sears name. The Sears stores that are closing, and even the dealer stores that are still open, operate under Transformco procedures and values do NOT reflect the philosophy or values of the previous Sears, Roebuck and Co. Mr. Lampert is only interested in "milking" the Sears name until it is dry. Because the Sears name was so significant at one time, this will take some time. Eventually, he will sell everything off or take it public and leave others "holding the bag." This is the Transformco legacy.

Don't be silly. No one here seriously cares about Sears' future. We're down to list trolls and anti-list trolls. (And at least one that plays both ways.) The list trolls have mastered pushing the anti-list trolls buttons. The anti-list trolls have mastered feigned outrage and pleas to stick to the topic. Both teams have mastered the art of reporting their rival's posts to the authorities.
Bottom line; the people now 'on the inside' at Sears don't care enough to waste their time speculating and rumor mongering. A sad state of affairs I know.

This is an honest question. I'd really like to know who cares more about Sears' future.
