Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Thoughts on the new Permian employees FAQ?

What a strange document!

The first line should have said - all impacted employees can apply for voluntary severance.

Does Conoco really want hostile employees transferred? They should do wink-wink nudge-nudge and not take those who don't want it.

Maybe there is a way to put this in the resume?

Nobody stops anybody from submitting a cr@ppy resume to Conoco, and doing a sh!tty interview. "To the best of one's sh!tty ability" - HR drones are welcome to fight that approach!

No sane Conoco manager will pick such an employee for an offer. Win-win!

Offering severance voluntarily would have created far more good will, instead of forcing people to game the system. Which is very doable.

!diots are everywhere in Shell these days, sigh ...

clearly put together by incompetent hr folks. not a surprise since they have been reorganized to death themselves to the point which you have only people left who don’t care anymore and are cut throat in their decision to please the overlords and safe money. the whole sentiment about having negotiated for conoco to take many staff because they care is true …. but what they care about is to minimize severance payments clearly …..
