Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

This could have been done so much better

I've heard about the semi-serious hiring being done at a few locations. Why do the hiring now? Wouldn't it have just been easier to keep enough people on hand in case things started getting out of hand like EVERYONE predicted it would? Hey Fritzy, did you get that?

270 hrs a month is insane I don’t know of any who is required to work this many hours. Most people work 160 hrs a month and we are made to work 270 hotel time not included.

I am pretty sure the new hires will be served hot dogs shortly after the company dumps money into there training. And HR will ask why employees are so negative.

I work on the Nebraska division just as many people are quitting as they are hiring so things aren’t getting any better. Everyone is tired. Most feel the minimum hiring is being done with no incentive so company can go to gov’t and say hey we can’t hire people so let us go one man crews. It’ll be interesting to see if they fall for it another round of lies put out by the people in charge. Maybe our union could point out what is going on to the right gov’t entity.

We on the Alameda Cooridor / Ports of long beach and LA to West Colton pools are getting burned out. Right now we have 70 trains scheduled and crews are on rest and on FRA 72 hour mandatory rest . lol....
We need more extra board crews.
I'm off until 0545 Saturday. Remember....
We can only work 270 hours a month....
😂. 150 train saturday morning...The ports are crazy.
