No more pre-medicare (65 years oldprovided medical/dental for Ford Retirees

Went to HR online this morning, Ford announced they will only provide a $6000 per year per retiree and spouse HRA then you have to get your own insurance thru a company...

Beginning January 1, 2022, the Company will change how we deliver this benefit.
● Company-sponsored pre-Medicare salaried retiree health care plans (medical, prescription dr-g and dental) will no longer
be provided by Ford, but instead will be available for purchase through a health insurance marketplace.
● Going forward, Ford’s contribution to your health plan will be provided in the form of a Health Reimbursement Arrangement
(HRA). The HRA gives you the ability to purchase health care plans from the marketplace that meet the needs of you and
your family.
● Ford has partnered with Via Benefits Insurance Services to provide you with dedicated support for your health care plan
decisions. You’ll have personalized support through Via Benefits to help you make an informed and confident choice.
Via Benefits has been providing support to our salaried Medicare population for over 15 years.

A couple years ago, after pushing people into early retirement, premiums for retiree coverage were increased. Now, after getting more early retirees, they pull the rug out from under them. These benefits were eliminated for people hired after 2001. Have the integrity to honor the commitments made to prior employees.

That Company, Via Benefits, is just a Medical Insurance Broker. Essentially, Ford is throwing all the pre-medicare retirees off coverage and making them go get their own insurance. This is NOT good!
