Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Time to leave is now

Companies are hiring right now. You will want to search positions you are interested in and spend time looking outside other retail jobs. Update your resume and cover letter. Rework (add/delete/key words) them using the job description you are applying for. Have a goal for applications and call them (if applicable) for a follow up. You may find something that surprises you.

Great advice from @1pov+1cQc5G18.

16 years in here also and actively looking. Don’t want to end up like the band playing as the Titanic was sinking….or the guy that jumped off and hit the propeller. Walmart hit the iceberg and it’s going down fast. Nice job Doug and Dacona. Quit trying to beat Amazon at a game you can’t win at the expense of a once loyal customer base.

10 years here and I'm looking. Got a few apps out there now. Even as salaried I'm willing to take a paycut to get out of here.

Yep, last day was today. 16 years with the company and I just couldn't do it anymore. Luckily, i have found another job and will start in a few weeks. After some much needed time off.

Great advice. Get out while you can. Don't be a lifer. There are a ton of companies out there that pay a decent wage, treat their employees well and value their employees.
Get out while you can because if I did it again, I would have a left a long time ago. Too many bosses and too many inconsistent policies where people aren't held accountable for their actions. Only some people are. Turnover is horrible. No Training, no accountability and you are told one thing by a manager one day and the next day you are told something completely different. And the pay sucks!

Yes! I quit back in May was the best decision I have made after almost 10 years. Idk why I didn’t do it sooner…. Felt good to just quit and walk right out. Had another job secured before doing so. Walmart did not deserve 2 weeks. They treat their employees awful.
