I stopped by this forum to see if there were any new rumors about cuts, but mostly I see posts criticizing Marketing. I have nothing commendable to say about TD marketing, but it still seems like a bit of an exaggeration when people say we may not even need Marketing. I just know that I can't really blame Marketing for having to look for a new job now because it's getting worse here every day.

What is wrong with marketing?
How about their campaign last year to use employees as "free PR", for starters? Asking rank-n-file employees to go on social media and post "nice things" about TD, was silly.
The LAST THING you want is Joe-Blue-Collar online Friday night, with a few drinks in his system-- "defending the honor" of the company against internet trolls and people on forums who actually understand finance. Sounds like a YUGE LIABILITY to take on, rather than just ponying up the cash for a PR firm to do it.
People understand that marketing is pure loss. All the bu-t kissing management is simply sucking up resources and high salaries but providing little. I guess the people actually producing are getting a little mad about it.
It’s funny to watch M.e. and J.J. spin the number of MQLs to justify all the wasted dollars. And C.T. Is still spending money with JMS? This is all one huge toilet when money gets flushed. I’m not planning to stay on this sinking ship much longer but it’s comical to watch. SM will replace them all soon with people McKinsey recommends.
Digital marketing is toxic, and their toxicity spreads to other departments that they work with. They have this team called 'center of excellence' that denounces those of us with actual degrees and think they can do all the work (dev, eng, ops). A lot of people here make fun of them, we can't help but laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.
