I talked to someone in Corporate HR and I was told record number of salary Leaders have left the company in the last 6 months. They are leaving faster then they can be replaced. And most likely will not be able to replace. I was told the majority of the salary leaders that have left the company have left for one of two reasons.
WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED!
I left Giant Eagle over two years ago. I worked there for over 20 years, so it was a big decision. I can genuinely say it was a great decision. I get paid more, but most importantly I am treated like a real person. My opinions and feedback matter. If you’ve been thinking about jumping…now is the time. Everyone is hiring now!
This has been going on for a very long time-they never paid us enough, there was a lot of toxic employees up in there you had to deal with, corporate treating everyone like garbage and are completely detached and do not care what’s happening inside the stores, etc. Then you had a lot of basket case department heads and managers running the stores too that were off the hook. I’ve never seen so much drama going on up in those stores and it’s too many people doing WAY TO MUCH for a $150/week check at the end of the pay period and for what? I got the he-l away from there .
Company wide… Most salary leaders are finding better paying jobs and better companies to work for
Curious, is the current manager shortage local (Cle, Col, etc), regional (Penn, Ohio, etc), or widespread?
It’s the best decision they will ever make. This company will never be about its employees. It’s all about making money, increasing profits etc. It’s a shame. It was once a good company to work for. Not anymore.
