There was no single thing that pushed me over the fence of whether I'd be staying or leaving, but more of a compilation of the greatest hits: layoffs, cr---y management, vanishing benefits, and most recently, possible RTO. I don't need that in my life, not when the job market is as strong as it is right now. I'd advise everybody to at least take a look at what's available, you might be surprised both by the number of options and pay/benefits that come with them.

Every single employee I know that has left for any reason - whether or not they had a job when they left - is happier now. The job market is wide open with remote opportunities and companies are paying well with good bennies. For me, the final straw was when my manager drove the team so hard to prove our worth, telling us the entire time that it would get us some more staff/more help to meet the unreasonable demands. The result? Manager got a promotion & raise. The team was shuffled (reorg) creating even more chaos for those who are actually doing the work. Not cool. Transparency? Integrity? Trust? Collaboration? What a joke!
So what is RTO, "responsible time off", where it's officially 'unlimited' ?
