Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

All your comments mean JackSh£&

Why waste your time, BH are throwing our as--s out, no point moaning and bi-----g anymore, glad I never worked in the machine shop, it's been a negative force for years
, Best place to have worked in BOD is the Assembly dept, we just work away and kept the money rolling in for the company, good lads working there, well most of us anyway. Place has run like clockwork for years, it's always been the machine shop that's let the side down.

Well that's not entirely true either, the planning and scheduling has let the place down, dam schedulers.

Oh wait, we have no schedulers just many many useless meetings whxib are an absolute waste of time and money.

I look forward to getting my pay off and finding a new job away from the BS of BHs.

All the best guys, I wish you all the best in the future.

This was all avoidable!
Weak leadership subcontracted out work that they were scared to manage and flipped the narrative that it saved $. Then with all our IP on the streets, competition and customer financed machine shops started cutting our profiles without paying a dime in royalties. The leadership didn’t renew patients that were integral towards the success and health of the company.

Then the leadership onboards a bunch of kids that follow in the same ideology.

This was entirely avoidable!

Reading all this makes me sad, you lot never had a bad word when the going was good. Very typical of shop floor people. Blame the management. You are a bunch of kids. I worked there and can only say, if you are not happy, why did you stay so long. The answer is the hours were good also the pay check, or you would have moved. It is sad that they are closing down, so have many in the Aberdeen area. Get a grip take your redundancy, go find another job, if you can

Hired by the current leadership. They must have seen something they like. Are they felt familiar with these personalities.
Either way, leaderships fault. Culture starts from the top!

All bulls sh-t aside, I have a real question. We took on the work and brought in two really good guys from a plant that closed. The other two guys probably needed some time off, to work on their personalities. Both are quick to blame others and quick to kiss a-s. And the morale is in the ditch. There were a handful of people that we all trusted and got along with, but they were let go during the transition or they retired soon after. I feel that the new leadership has a lot to do with all of this.
Question: Did you guys in BOD feel the same way that a lot of us do? We’re supposedly merging and I don’t know how this will improve anything.
Please share your thoughts. We wish all of you the best.
🙏

Assembly rules. We have kept the place going for years, with out us the place would have shut down years ago.
