Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Old school Sears

Apologies if this was discussed already, as I didn't see it. But I was wondering if all the "old school Sears", are now closed? By that I mean the stand-alone, Sears-specific buildings, with the towers, like Hackensack, Boyle Heights, and the soon to be closed Brooklyn. As opposed to the cookie-cutter mall Sears, like Jersey City. Of the remaining 19 non-closing full-line Sears, are any of them the old style?

I think Fort Lauderdale and Miami are stand alone stores but they don’t have the vintage looking buildings.

Really Cool newspaper article here, from 1932! Then first lady of NY, Elanor Roosevelt (F.D.R. was governor then) was at the opening of Brooklyn Sears! She made the first purchase there. She actually turned the key to open the store.

I doubt you'll find many left that are still open, buddy. I think Brooklyn might have been about the last of them, and they are history.
