Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Going to work for a competitor. . .

I am interested in the experiences of those who got a job with direct competitors.

I would most prefer that the company I applied to is not a Q competitor because I feel very uncomfortable going over to the competition.

Did those who crossed over to the biggest competitors have any problems afterwards?

CWY left QC for Intel in 2016 and back to QC in 2020 March. However, he had to leave after an Investigation at Intel for breaking the non-Fraternitation rule where he brought in a Chinese woman who he brouggt under him by moving out the manager who was performing that role, and promoting an incapable Chinese chap after his entire staff disagteed with him, CWY fsiked to document the disagteement and was caught a few months later on. So please do not take CWYs feedback.

There really isn’t anything secret at Qualcomm. All patents are account for and TSMC produces most of our chips - so we give away all our secrets to China willing. Qualcomm hasn’t come up with new tech in over 15 years - what are you going to tell them the secrecy’s of CDMA? You work at a commodity company that doesn’t even make their own chips!

Wireless communications is not rocket science. Most of the information is from textbook. There is not much secrecy.

More to the point, are they giving away corporate information, which iis espionage.
Just because it goes on in our lives does not make it acceptable.
Especially if that information helps competitors such as Chinese tech companies and indirectly, THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT
