Thread regarding Emerson Electric Co. layoffs

Another job outsourced

And yet again someone from our location leaves and we hire their 'replacement' in another world area. Why does Fisher even bother pretending it cares about keeping Marshalltown working. Everyone is trying to leave before the other shoe drops.

Any know why Emerson mangment doesn't reverse outsource themselves? I'd bet we could hire upper managment in Manila that could run Emerson as well as they do in St. Louis at a fraction of the cost.

I don’t know much about other Emerson locations, but it doesn’t really matter. My guess is that they are all at the same cr-p level.

However I keep hearing about the situation at Fisher in Marshalltown and it keeps getting worse every week I hear a new update. Can’t say I feel sorry for the company.

Fisher is rising to the level of its own incompetence

Emerson have made it clear that they prefer to hire in low cost countries. Anyone staying to work for Emerson in the USA or Europe is kidding themselves if they think that there is any good long term future for them.

Emerson’s business model seems to show a mix of boomers and recent grads as the ‘US’ face of foreign labor.

No confidence and no leadership will k&ll this company.

At least they left before their position was moved to a "best cost location", like myself. I suppose the datacenter in M'town closed?
