Transformco is not keeping anything open at Brooklyn. That entire building, including the basement, will likely be a community recreation center for the residents of Flatbush, Brooklyn. Every single department of that store will be closed and vacated by Nov. 14. It's a Dead issue now, move on.

No, Kmart is a real store. They are going to keep it open. Do not remove the Brooklyn Kmart from the list until there is an official closing announcement.

Boy, everybody will be surprised when they dig a tunnel from the parking lot to keep the Kmart store open.

Got a song for y'all! Sing it to the tune of "99 Bottles".

"Brooklyn never was a Kmart,
BROOKLYN NEVER WAS!
Since Brooklyn Kmart just happened to FALL,
the Kmart counts do not change at ALL!"

Bo-m bo-m bash bam booya!

Brooklyn is just a Sears. It has a Kmart department in the basement. Moot point anyway, as the whole Sears (including the Kmart and other departments) is closing. Now I don't have to bicker with the Brooklyn trolls anymore. Bo-m, sweet. Kmart count is still 17 (hopefully goes down drastically soon though, as I'm anxious to formulate a new and reduced list).

Brooklyn is a Sears AND a KMart. This does affect both the Sears and the Kmart store counts, but more importantly, this impacts this board. This store, more than any other recently, has been an icon or lightning rod. I for one will miss both the Sears and the KMart.

Finally, we can stop quibbling over whether that mini-Kmart thing inside the Brooklyn Sears counts.

Obviously, all departments of Sears are closing, including the "Kmart department" of Brooklyn Sears, as well as the other departments of Brooklyn Sears, like shoes, hardware, etc.. When a store closes, they close all their departments, like shoe department, menswear department, Kmart department, etc..

This is so great! Of all the stores I could have picked to close, it's this one, because this will end the incessant trolling by those trolls, who keep spamming the list guy about some fictitious Brooklyn Kmart (which was just a tiny department of Brooklyn Sears, not a standalone store). Anyway, this puts that topic to be once and for all. The Brooklyn Sears (including the Kmart department of Brooklyn Sears) is closing! Kmart count is not affected by this, and holds steady at 17 (for now). Looks like Eddie is phasing out the NYC market, as he also closed 2 Manhattan Kmarts. There are 2 Kmarts still in Bronx, but probably not for long either.

Thank you for that! You are very professional in that you post a link when announcing a closing. Way to go sir, or madam! It's also up on Sears job site now:

@bts+1cQwuLhD I'd assume both since it's a Sears store with a Kmart inside of the Sears.

Just the Sears or also the Kmart?
