Everyone is tired of baker’s bs, their constant internal focus and endless reorgs. All your bosses are worrying about surviving the next shuffle and know there is zero correlation between performance in the field and job security. No, you’ve got to say the right things to the right people (and those people are not customers).

Medium sized companies live hand to mouth. They know they require revenue to survive and managers know that their job depends on bringing in that revenue. It’s existential. It’s the thrill of the hunt and the joy of shared success. There is no time for internal scheming, everything - and everyone - is about customers and results.

Long time since you felt that at baker?
