Poorly written job description

It turns out that what was written in the job description and what I am really doing here does not exactly match. How many of you get assigned tasks that are not specifically outlined in the job description and vice versa, not getting to do the things that were in the job description? I'm getting sick of this company.

It happens to me as well. I have been doing projects that are unrelated to my role for a few years. I tried finding a new job in my field but I couldn’t, because the interviewers thought my experience at UHG was irrelevant to the field.

I'm being asked to perform a completely different job for which I do not have the requisite knowledge or skills. The story is that they are just training me for the job I signed up for and I will be moved over at some undefined point in the future. Almost everyone else on my team has a similar story.

I get asked to do lots of things outside of my job description but I don't complain. It a wonderful job and I will do whatever, happily.

At will employment usually means do whatever job they tell you to, unfortunately. In 6 years, my job has changed at least 6 times. I say do as they ask & look outside co. Yep

Job descriptions here are fiction. And managers rewrite them at will. As lawyered up as UHG is there is not fighting it. You leave and go back to the sanity of a real company that has a clue.

This is a norm with the company. Keep you scrambling to keep your job. HR doesn’t care but if a legal team stepped in to defend the company against an employee lawsuit they would care. But you know who you work for and they would make it work in their favor. Make up documentation and pay someone off . Find a better company to work for- that’s what you do.

Because HR is staffed by contractors with no real understanding of jobs or tasks. That coupled with inept management is the issue
