Vaccine Mandates for Work

So the govt is going to make us all get vaccines to come into work. Yet as I watch football games across the country hundreds of thousands of fans sit less than a foot apart. This is both the NFL and NCAA as well as MLB. It is all across the country as well. Last nights Yankees and Mets games were huge, but hardly any mask were worn. The powers to be have already said to wear masks outside in close contact areas. There is no way these people are all vaccinated, so what gives with the govt there. I work at an office that I can easily be six feet from others. I am vaccinated as well, but some of my co-workers are not and they have had covid and have anti-bodies. There is more to the story than just wanting to have everyone vaccinated, or these huge events would be shutdown. They sure shut them down last year. Maybe they are just looking for control.

USA 50% vaccinated cases higher than ever. Israel 60% vaccinated cases highest in the world. Square that circle if you want. The jabs have an elimination half life of 6-8 months then you'll lose a lot of effectiveness and you may be carrying a high viral load at the same time masked by the effects of the jab. You can get really sick and hence the booster forever.

Myocarditis is extremely rare and most cases are mild, with most people recovering with simple treatment and rest. On the other hand, how many people of all ages will these unvaccinated boys infect with COVID over time?

The unique problem with a virus is, without a vaccine, there is no control over when we receive it or when we transmit it. There are literally billions of unvaccinated people worldwide acting as living hosts for COVID to possibly mutate into something the current vaccines may no longer be effective against. See the bigger picture?

I do believe we should stick to the science in debating whether to or not to be vaccinated. Therefore what are your comments on this study that shows young boys are more likely to develop heart problems after the vaccination than the admitted to the hospital for Covid?

2zxj says “ People don’t believe the science, although they have zero formal education on the topic. ” Please provide us with the details of your formal education on virus transmission. My guess it’s nada, so you just believe what someone tells you to believe. Bottom line is people believe what they want to believe.

Most companies will adhere to the mandate because they want a safe workplace and they desire to end the full time work from home model. Workers are free to do as they wish. Get vaccinated or test weekly, or take a hike. Who needs people who are so self centered that they can’t bother with the good of society. They are rotten individuals.

My favorite is "settled science." Eyes rolling.

@2zxj- Science is a PROCESS of discovery. It is not a list of "facts."

Although scientific inquiry has yielded some "laws," this status doesn't make them absolute in perpetuity. They can have exceptions, be proven wrong, or evolve over time. As a scientist, I'm tired of hearing lay people misrepresent science out of ignorance or to shut down debate on any topic they don't understand.

So when you hear someone say "follow the science," understand the true meaning of that statement, and make sure they do too. The quality of the debate will improve dramatically.

Full disclosure- I'm fully vaccinated and strongly encourage others to join me.

@ 2cxz
I do not double mask. Rather I wear an N99 mask with valve. Protect myself and to he-l with the rest.
Indeed while fully vaccinated I can be assymptomatic and spread the disease, but frankly in this everyone for themselves society I no longer care.
I am also tired of bearing the financial burden of the situation: $20 vaccines, $100 testing $500 Regeneron $50,000 ICU visit. You cannot be anti vaxx mandate and fiscally conservative at the same time.

Unvaccinated people are 11 times more likely to die of Covid once they have been admitted to an ICU.
How is the whole conversation not about religion. People don’t believe the science, although they have zero formal education on the topic. Belief=Religion
Let’s be honest to ourselves. Science is not something that is to be believed. It is fact! Otherwise it is a yet unproven hypothesis.
I am mandated to have car insurance, wear a seat belt, stop at stop signs, pay in stores, wear a hardhat in designated areas and always steel toe boots on a job site.
OSHA now mandates vaccine or testing.

@2hvh, Sounds like you would put on two masks and take an experimental vaccine if some bureaucrat in a white coat told you too. Actually I think you already did. That’s your choice. Why belittle others who made a choice not to?

What does religion have to do with it? If you’ve been paying attention you will know that most ‘preachers’ are in favor of the vaccination, although many are opposed to mandating it.

Last point, the CDC came out last month and said that vaccinated people may be as likely as unvaccinated people to spread the virus. maybe you should just stay home.

I’m vaccinated as well because it made sense for me personally but I am 1000% against government mandates. “I’m from the government and I’m here to help” are the scariest phuqqing words you can hear. Every communist/socialist regime in history has started out by claiming to be looking out for the good of its own citizens.

So I’m just wondering if Malaria makes a comeback in the Houston swam and there’s a mandate to take hydroxychloiquine prophylaxis if all the pin head will decline to do so on principle and brush their teeth with anti fungal cream cause some preacher in a tin foil hat tells them to.

Even if all employees vaccinated the company will have to deal with people being infected with variants and sickouts. Just best to WFH.

Large venues will soon be doing just the same. Of course they're gonna pack them in while they can though.

Be suspicious of people who scream about vaccination mandates yet claim to be vaccinated against COVID.

Probably the same people who cut you off in traffic and cheat on their taxes.

It is easier for companies or federal agencies to control vaccination of their employees than for event organizers to control vaccination of fans at a game. Companies actually want the vaccination mandate because then they can bring the employees back to the office for x number of days a week.
