Today we are beginning some adjustments to the Instructure Engineering organization to better align our products in Europe and reassert our focus for engineering in the Americas. These adjustments will change what some people are working on and some people will be leaving the company in a few months. This last part sucks. We want to find an opportunity and position for as many of the impacted Certica team as possible right here at Instructure where the skills and interests align. More on that below.
Here is the summary:
As part of the overall engineering strategy, we will be locating certain product groups and expertise within our key geographical regions.
Europe will now be the home of our data, analytics, reporting and standards products, including Videri & DataConnect, Certify, Impact by Instructure, as well as our platform components supporting data and analytics. As part of this alignment, all of the Certica software products will be moving to Europe between now and the end of the year.
The US and Latin America will continue to be the home of our core LMS and AMS platforms: Canvas and MasteryConnect.
Europe will continue to be the home of our category add-on products, including Studio, Catalog, Portfolium and Commons.
Implementing these adjustments will result in some US-based team members phasing out of their current roles and either moving to new roles in the US or accepting a transition package offered by the company.
Where a good fit cannot be found inside the company for the skills and desires of each affected employee, each will be given an exit package after certain objectives have been met.
