Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford Management: narcissistic or just plain d-mb?

Let's start with the facts:

"Circuit City. It was a major retail chain in the 1980s that collapsed under mismanagement. Its arguably biggest blunder was firing all of their experienced, better-paid workers for cheaper, inexperienced ones. Apparently, selling merchandise and keeping customers happy are important in the retail business. Who knew?"

"IBM. According to a deposition from a former vice president of the company, IBM fired employees in an effort to boost its appeal to millennials and make it appear to be as “cool” and “trendy” as Amazon and Google. IBM has faced years of revenue declines as it transitions from its legacy computer hardware business into new technology products and services".

Is Ford repeating the mistakes of other companies that went down? As Red Adair said: "If you think hiring a professional is expensive, wait until you hire an amateur."

Is it possible that Ford Management are just narcissistic? Symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder include an excessive need for admiration, disregard for others' feelings, an inability to handle any criticism, and a sense of entitlement.

It's said that a wise person learns from his mistakes. A wiser one learns from others' mistakes. What would you call someone who doesn't learn, nor listen to their employees?

Last sentence of OP posting: What would you call someone who doesn't learn, nor listen to their employees?

Take your pick (1) Current president of the United States, (2) Billy Ford, (3) Owners of the Detroit Lions, (4) Current Ford CEO, (5) Ford LL5/LL6 manager
