Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

How many hours is your store short?

Our store is running over 1,000 hours less per week than a year ago.

well I have no issue running a business with tight labor. the issue is hyvee is top heavy in stores and all levels of organization. upper mgr and store manager afraid of physical labor in my book. 60 percent time spent in office or doing math where profits are at. maybe fill a shelf to build sales. if hyvee counted outs in each dept they figure out where to get 10 percent sales increase they want. oh yes still takes a human to fill a shelf.

Gotta pay for those piddly pay raises somehow. I got a few cents more per hour but my hourly wage is nowhere near $15/hr. But jobs are left infilled with more and more piled on to those who remain. Corporate still expects the same level of customer service. Newsflash….when you’re the only rat left on the sinking ship in your department, you can only do so much.
