They are getting let go with in the next couple weeks. Then the production side in both buildings 66 and 273 will be on the streets again. Union Proud, Onion $trong.

This guy doesn't know what he's talking about Gas still makes alot of money. If they can figure Hydrogen they are good for another 20 years. Larry will combine Power and REN. Most of the service shops will be closed in the US/EU and Sch will mainly be a service shop with a couple new unit CC Streamers here and there. It will be much much smaller. They will jam the 1 wage scale down your throat via "take or we close the plant". I was a PQE when the 2 wage scale first came in this was the plan back then. The new "GE Energy" will be left with a factory in GVL, Pensacola, and a large service shop with new unit capability in Schenectady. In the EU you will have the Wind factories in France, Spain and Norway. Gas in France to make 9H/9Bs for Africa and Birr and the EU 273. The old Alstom plant in France goes to EDF with Williamsburg for pennies on the dollar. Trust me i have been around for a long time in both Power and REN. This is what they are working too and the only thing that will work.

With the talks of selling steam and coal power segments to a French company I can see GE selling the power segment. Growth projection profits for Power over the next 3 years are almost not worth the cash cow power is. Services only makes a very small portion of profits for power. The growth projections are just projections the growth is not set in stone! So yes GE will layoff before the sale of GE power. Power has lost its steam and I am so close to retirement I can’t wait to see this place close up after the sale. See all these T Rates hit the streets crying. Von Roll all over again, Honeywell, Fort Plain and now Schenectady. These projected numbers do not include facility costs seeing how the roof leaks and has been for years. Get ready everyone knows it’s going to happen.

There is less than 15-20 rates in 66 that could be laid off, so if anything actually happens it will be mostly from 273. 24 rates and top 7 20 rates in seniority in the program are all safe from a layoff, little facts that most don’t know. Just like the work load in 66, most have zero clue how much work is done and is booked for the next few years!

Everyone that agrees to work @ G E knows that sooner or later you'll be back on the street, so sit back, relax, collect unemployment and the G E supplemental money untill you're eligible for unemployment insurance, then get the governmental supplement money, you'll be fine!
