Thread regarding Raytheon Co. layoffs

I would love to volunteer for a layoff

I believe many more people at this point would be happy to volunteer for layoff?

I know quite a few people that were laid off last year and got the 52 week severance and they were not managers or directors. RTN published something during the merger about the 52 week severance and it applied to everyone. Some people took advantage and retired too so they got paid for a whole year for doing nothing. What a deal. However dont think it still applies if you get laid off this year. Plus if you dont get the shot and get fired you get nothing.

All RTN laid off in 2020 got one year of severance at their current pay along with one year medical thru payroll deductions. Everything on the paycheck stub is the same except contributions to 401k. I know quite a few people who got the year severance. I was one of them.

I would like to hear from anyone who personally knows someone less than Director level who got the 52 weeks severance package. I have yet to talk to anyone who knows of someone who has. Everyone I know of who did, was director level or higher.

Raytheon is a job for the uneducated losers. Most have no other skills. Any engineer worth their salt quickly moves on to greener pastures. He-l, even in the beltway, recruiters, YES RECRUITERS, won't advise placement to Raytheon due to the fact that the inside path they are hearing is that UTC plans on making Raytheon lean through personnel and then 1) Sell of after a slice and dice, or 2) complete corp dump. I was at missile systems for several years before realizing if you are smarter than those around you they become fearful. Laziness all around you, and inept re--rds. Primarily from management and co-workers who know they cant leave because no one else will hire them. Was time for me to cut anchor...

If there is layoffs this year (which I doubt) they might ask for volunteers first.
