Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Not a company where I feel like giving my 100%.

Demotivating environment. Lack of clarity of vision, because what's show on slides as vision is vastly different from the way the ELT executes that vision. Poor organizational stability, attrition seems to have no impact to management as they don't understand how it impacts the ICs themselves. Nothing in this company makes me feel like working harder or to my fullest because there are no rewards, no recognition for good quality work.

It's clear. All the management(esp. Director and above) are here only to ki-l time while they make their big bucks. All the things about "empathy" etc. is nothing but loose talk.

Cloud eng. is a massive mess. NO one really knows where they're going with what they're doing. The shiny new thing is also fast losing it's shine. The way it's been propagated to the company is inept and biased. More people leaving bound to happen.

Well yeah, it's by design. The "hard working, dedicated, stressed out, trying hard to make things better" people never get ahead at TDC. It's the lazy a-s kissers that get the big promotions and seem to beat lay offs. Just collect your paycheck if it's good enough and keep your resume updated.

If you don’t love your work and want to give it your all, I think you should interview and see what else is out there. Or, you could find an excuse to be happy in your job and move forward. Posting here may make you feel better temporarily but you don’t solve any problems.

Almost every Teradata customer want to turn it off. How can you want to give 100% when you are on a sinking ship?

@Anonymous: You took the "100%" too literally and didn't understand my thought. I simply meant, there is barely any motivation or inspiration left to work. And of course, I keep ample time for myself, and didn't indicate any burnout. You seem to be from management.

Not just Cloud eng, but the strategy team, cloud team and leadership are a hot mess. Yet we in GTM are getting the blame. We have sold everything on the truck but nobody listens to us. Certainly not giving 100%.

Life is too short to work for a company you don’t respect and who does not respect you. Leave now. You can easily find something better.

If we consider your life at 100%, there is no way you can give that to any company. Best you can do is anywhere between 50%-70% with something left over for yourself to keep going. Let's be realistic for once and stop this nonsense. I know we can slice and dice the issue, while at work you give 100% but that's still impossible, you need at least 30% of energy to survive.
