Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Our Best Rep

Man oh man. We have a rep that outsold everybody. Worked his a$$ off and nearly tripled the amount of lines that everyone else did. He SPAZZED out yesterday bc our manager was criticizing him about having one bar on his contribution. He was like “YAL WOULDNT BE SH*T WITHOUT ME” , called the manager a peasant, then clocked out and left. Never came back.

It’s been 24 hours and I’m still laughing.

I'm not supposed to say this buuuuut... other companies like bestbuy, apple and samsung have great deals too Mr. And Mrs. Karen. Might want to check them out for the best deal possible?

Bottom line

You don't pay us enough to give a sh-t and try

Just listening to a huddle and being told to now help everyone .... This company seriously has no direction, store managers say digital, DM is just a sheep to the director and they are saying to help everyone to get growth.

Verizon is not only have employees run but also customers from the woke policies. Verizon customer base is older and has much more traditional beliefs. Also expect customer service. All of that is gone

To be honest, we don't even need stores anymore. Everything can be done online or over the phone. That being said, they need to increase pay all around. The work from home reps get 3% raise a year for performing the prior year. That doesn't even cover the large increase of cost of living. In some cases front line is making more than their Supervisor.

They need to increase wages and stop with the left wing critical race theory cr-p and giving money to BS social justice organizations. How can Verizon give a random $15,000,000 to StopAsianHate when the stores and call centers are the ones getting customer hate all day?

Stores and Customer Service are getting screwed

Maryland here. My store had a new hire that was just horrible. But guess what he "hit numbers" customers just blasted him on online reviews. Local management did not care as they got a lot of VZ home. When a customer started to email CEO address and goto the local media. Executive relations got involved, the new guy is now gone. Sadly he was young and d-mb and praised but local management

East Texas here. Our new hire a mere 20 years old was offered 18.00 hourly plus the commission bonus. Imagine that ? She’s all like wow I can’t believe I’m making this much with just a GED. Easy on the eyes though but she won’t last. If she does it’s because she’s .....easy on the eyes.

One of our hitters, unexpectedly put in their two weeks today. I don't blame them though. This sadly isn't an adult job anymore. It's for kids.

Love it! OP - please keep us updated on what happens. Do the store's numbers call of the map, does the manager take heat, do they even backfill the position?

I left Verizon and my store back in October. (Best thing I did). I'm still close with many in my old store. I was a top rep, Winners Circle and Presidents cabinet. I also had the highest RIS in my store. I sold, I did not push and no shade. I could see the writing on the wall and knew the ride was over. I never called out, took customers over breaks, worried about wait times.. I really did care. The changes made did push me out. I know I was just a number, and I was expensive. I got paid out well, I did have strong numbers but to Hand and Co. They made changes to flush people like me out. My store has had 6 people to "replace" me. The 6th person they hired just never came back from lunch yesterday. The cost to hire 6 people has too add up. A total loss of focus at the top.

Most Sales organizations want their Sales reps too make equal or more than the immediate Sales supervisor, Verizon doesn’t work in that way especially after the changes after lockdown. Our store had a rep that did 70 + gross ads every month , because he was producing that amount every month he applied for an assistant manager job in another zone and of course he was hired. Thus, making a very high consistent producing employee to essentially a non producing employee. He posted out because he could make a little more as an assistant, thus Verizon adds more bloat to the top heavy non producing mgmt. in the real world he would never have gone to mgmt. (at least the short term) .Hopefully, he won’t become a micro manager and thus sorry to say, becomes a hidden liability that many become.

It truly does suck for the employees that have so much drive & talent. Verizon stole their motivation by paying the lazy reps the same amount as the reps that hustle hard all month. This whole contribution score is a joke.

Exactly that whole system is broken. You have someone that clearly contributes wayyy more than others and they are rated lower. Illogical. I don't even talk about it with my reps because of how broken and easy to manipulate it is. I judge how my reps do by actually watching and listening to their transactions and coach accordingly. I'm on the floor always, never in the back. I have their back.
