Thread regarding CVS layoffs

mandatory vaccinations

As a health care company, CVS Health is focused on helping to turn the tide of COVID-19 and to protect our colleagues, our patients, and our communities. Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases nationwide, driven by the highly contagious Delta variant, there is an even more urgent need for CVS Health colleagues to be vaccinated. Given this we have put in place a new mandatory vaccination policy at CVS Health under which certain colleagues must be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus and provide information that verifies vaccination status.

You are receiving this communication as you are an applicant to CVS Health who is impacted by this policy change. As a condition of employment with CVS Health, you will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless you are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, pregnancy, or religious belief that prevents them you from being vaccinated. Full vaccination includes:

Two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer/Comirnaty COVID-19 vaccines, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.

What this means for you:

If you are vaccinated: you are required to have received at least one COVID-19 shot prior to your first day of employment and to provide proof of your vaccination status within the first 30 days of your employment. For the COVID-19 two shot regimen, you will be required to provide proof of your second COVID-19 shot within the first 60 days of your employment. Some patient facing job positions in certain locations will require new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 on their first day of employment, meaning they will need to have received all shots of their vaccine at least two weeks prior to starting work. Colleagues in these roles will be required to provide proof of full vaccination before they can start to actively work. Failure to provide timely proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will result in the termination of your employment with CVS Health.

If you are unable to be fully vaccinated (due to disability, medical condition, pregnancy, or religious belief): If you are unable to be fully vaccinated due to disability, medical condition, pregnancy, or religious belief, you will be required to apply for a reasonable accommodation within the first 30 days of your employment in order to remain employed with CVS Health. As a part of this process, you will be required to provide information or documentation about the reason you cannot be vaccinated. Some patient facing job positions in certain locations will require new hires to either be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved reasonable accommodation before they start to actively work. If your request for an accommodation is not approved, then your employment may be terminated.

If you feel that you will not be able to comply with the CVS Health Vaccination policy, we will consider you to have withdrawn your interest in a role with CVS Health. If you have already been in contact with a Talent Acquisition representative, please reach out to inform them of your decision. If you have not yet been contacted and receive a reach out from CVS Health, please inform the Talent Acquisition representative that you are no longer interested in a role.

Thank you for support as we work together to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic!

Thank you,

CVS Health Talent Acquisition

This is about power and control!! This is not about health and safety. Moving forward I will identify as a member of Congress and enjoy my exemption from the stupidity of the COVID fraud.

I guess it's irrelevant now with the new mandate from the President. Since CVS is over 100 employees, one can only assume the store employees will need to get vaccinated also or be tested weekly or let go.

wow, corporate has to vaccinate but retail does not. So much for equality in the workforce I guess one level of employee is greater than the other. Seems the company wants to protect one class of worker and could care less about the other.

This is for every single CVS Health business EXCEPT for store level employees (with the exception of pharmacist) that means Omni care/Caremark/ and every OTHER business NOT CVS Health retail. I agree that it’s misleading for the retail store associates.

this was for a software development position..so not sure under which realm of vaccine requirements that falls under. The emails doesn't specify.

that is the entire email so if that is misleading, please point out where. From what I read, either get vaccinated or don't plan on working at CVS. Pretty simple message to me. Sounds like a policy change...perhaps you are not aware of the policy change. It came from talent acquisition. You may want to inquire with them.

I got it also in an email from cvs..as did others. It went out to anyone that has applied for a job at CVS caremark. It's not misleading...it is actually from them.

I don’t know who put this in heat but it is misleading. I don’t think it is a company’s place to dictate vaccines on anyone however putting this on here is misleading. The only required employees at store level at Pharmacist. Everyone else that is required to get vaccinated are the corporate level employees which includes District leaders and above. No technician, no Store associates, no Store Managers, no SMITs no Opps mgrs, etc. shame on the person who put this on here without saying what positions are required, you’re trying to stir something up for a “like”. We’re all working hard and we’re all tired we don’t need this as leaders to add another pointless conversation to our staff.
