Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

People with 50+ are also leaving

It is not very true that older employees are not leaving. I’m one of those older employees who struggled to find a new job, but eventually I found it. Anyone who finds any acceptable option leaves here.
In my opinion, the company will have a big problem if this trend continues because the best people are leaving. How the company will solve this problem is really a question.

Mingle is a joke. She said years ago in a town hall that those there more then 5-10 years were there to long. They have been sued for age discrimination in previous layoffs when everyone was over 50. This company has become a POS.

Companies with lower tier employees are doomed to fail. Those employees will hire their buddies from the same tier and they will never hire any one smart or with a wealth of experience for fear of getting displaced. The competent ones who stay behind will be stuck doing all the work.

Not true, I don't think they care if older people leave. Last year I had a small group discussion with the head HR lady and she basically said that they were looking to fill more positions with new grads to save on costs. And not even from the top engineering schools at that, but more from the 2nd tier schools. I thought that was very telling.
