Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

I'm not very worried

I don’t understand why so many posts about the latest rumor about layoffs at GE Schenectady.
_

If it's a fake alarm - fine, and if there's any truth in that rumor, that's fine too, I'm not worried.
I’d love to be on that layoff list but I believe there are a lot of people who are worried about the rumor. Did you start looking for a new job right after the rumor appeared?

GE has nearly halved its U.S. workforce in 3 years. GE’s total workforce is less than half of its 1999 peak, while the number of U.S. employees has fallen more than 70% since then.

It's not just a rumor, it's a fact . Just keep the resume updated and see what happens. My guess is we will hear an actual date of the layoffs within the next two months. Just wish they would do it already because the morale on the floor is aweful.
