Thread regarding Cox Automotive layoffs

There haven't been that many layoffs lately

I kind of got used to having major layoffs once or twice a year that I'm now confused and apprehensive about the fact that we've had no big rounds for a while. I'd like to believe this is a good thing but I can't help but worry about a new announcement coming any day now. How are other folks dealing with this?

It was usually late summer / fall for layoffs. probably going back to 2017.
Last August big cuts (thousands).. Maybe not any this year? Just working things out on their own (not replacing or replacing with lower cost workers) as people leave?

"Bitter old man posting. Companies restructure and reorg all the time to get rid of overpaid, dead weight. If you're chopped, take the hint."... companies reorg all the time. but not all preach transparency, respect, caring for employees, treating them like family , then do the complete opposite. Cox is and has been in major damage control over the past several years. just look at all the paid for reviews on sites like indeed. its clear to see what are real reviews and what are either paid for or planted by PR people for cox. Why you think theyre touting lately, how great a company it is to work for and all the accolades and awards they get from random media outlets for being a top employer (also paid for "good PR"). Cox is a joke, treats people like sh-t, and youll find out one day.

It’s definitely coming. You say it hasn’t been that long? … It was less than a year ago thousands lost their job. Lol. Thousands. Right now they can’t find people to come work for them. Past employees fed up. The reputation is out there that they’re terrible company. People know. And do not for one second think more restructures are coming. Soon. They always do. As soon as the automotive business starts to plateau it’ll be coming. If you’re in a company recently acquired. Like Di-kenson or one of the others. That’s where the trimming will happen the most as they weed out the duplicate roles and unnecessary fat the acquired companies have. Then the restructuring will happen. Rebrand companies shuffle people all over the place. Don’t think for one second it won’t happen. mid-late Q4 is when they do most of the chops Historically trim fat before year end. Right around the holidays usually. Super classy organization.
