If I’m right, most seem to get offers of significantly lower paid jobs? I don't know many people who got better paid jobs after Shell. I don’t like new beginnings, but I would be happy to get any decent offer. Looks like I'm going to have to move for that.

Same pay, but had to move to Midland. 401k is better as well, but no pension. It's a small company, so we just do our job. Not too much effort goes into politics. At least so far.
OP, it won't hurt to look. You don't have to accept the offers if its too low for you.
Took a 50% pay-cut from an outside offer and would do it again. Shell was a drain on everything in my life and I was done with being used.

At this point, Shell has no idea what it wants to be as a company. There's no cohesive vision or strategy other than to sell assets...and that's not a good way to retain talent. The past two years have seen nothing but a shuffling of employees, within and to the outside of the company.
To address the poster who talked about being buddy-buddy with the boss: I believe that's a true element...but only one element. I think it largely depends on how you're perceived by other managers, too, and how you support your site. I also believe that the annual goal-setting scheme for employees is largely a waste of time. My experience has been that the goals I've set or accomplishing them have had absolutely NO impact on any bonus or raise...ever. As such, again, a waste of time. He-l, I was offered a performance share plan and didn't deliver ANY of my goals that year (of course, must admit there were extenuating circumstances - plant fires, hurricanes, process failure emergencies - for which I provided an inordinate amount of support for much more time than I was compensated based on my standard schedule). My sense has always been that performance should be judged on production support and contribution to department goals. Unfortunately, department goals are set by managers who are as lost as everyone below them as to what the goals and business delivery within those goals should be. So, what are you left with? Buddy-buddy gets the 1.3 performance rating. It's a failed, flawed system: I'm so thankful I will no longer be a Shell employee next year.

Left my JG7 position and got a 50% increase. Outrageous I know but it shows how depending on the grade level and when you were hired at Shell you may be greatly underpaid for what you bring to the company. When I left I had over a decade more experience than recent new hires but was paid 5-10% less. Given how Shell does their yearly evaluation for raises it would be impossible for me to catch up to my colleagues salary given that 50% of your evaluation is behavior based and is quite subjective to your relationship to your boss, the more buddy buddy you are the greater that chance they'll over look obvious red flags and bump your ranking. Also given Reshapes impact on the company org tree there are no opportunities for many individuals JG7 and lower to move up. As many bosses tell their workers that they can't move two JG despite being more than qualified to do so. I spoke with HR about that and it's a direct lie from line supervisors and managers to keep their direct reports inline. In the end you just have to decide if you are willing to the take the leap and move on. It took me a year of looking but I was fortunate to find my new opportunity and haven't regretted moving on.
Got a ~20% bump with an independent op. But to be fair, was being docked around with a JG4 tease forever. Was underpaid as a JG5 with my experience
I left after 20 yrs, got another job with a local producer about 5 % higher overall compensation, the most I liked is the severance I got out of it
