What if Macys shut all its stores and sold off the real estate and bought warehouses and became only a online store.. which position would be gone?

There will not be another shutdown unless it gets proven our vaccines no longer work.
A lockdown is on the table if this continue to be worse. This president has no choice, the delta variant covid is so contagious it's like the chickenpox.

Don’t see it happening. Online has become critical to staying afloat but in the higher rated mall locations those stores I can’t see closing. Herald Square is an experience unfortunately Macy’s can’t afford to model this in too many other sites making the experience dull like certain other retailers.
There will be no more shutdowns. Didn't work to contain the virus. It was just a big show of nothing. Ruined a lot of lives and businesses.
That would be the greatest financial decision Macy’s has ever made. With new sh-t downs looming the future isn’t bright.
