Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Who is not under stress here?

I only know who will not be under stress starting next week. This company allows bullying. That is not normal. I regret waiting for the situation to become unbearable and my mental health to suffer before finally deciding to go somewhere else. Their tactic is to demoralize the employees and convince them that they should be happy to have any job just so they can squeeze them as much as they like.

Kudos to those who were able to walk away from this place and tend to your mental well
being. For me, I am not in a financial position to do so and I’ve interviewed many times to get out. I’ve had 2 mental breakdowns in last 3 years. It’s gotten better and I won’t allow this place to break me like that again. So no, I will not be going above and beyond. I will do and give just enough to keep my paycheck going.

Enbridge gives you golden handcuffs so you can slave away, be belittled and destroy your self resect and dignity for the sake of your retirement which you might not even live to see. Sounds like a great plan. Enjoy the trauma.

The story below is familiar. I saw my leader tap my peers on the shoulder for positions but I was always expected to apply if and when postings came up and interview. When I asked my leader about it he said I was a high performer and something suitable would come along soon. That never happened. The level of exclusion towards minorities is glaring in this organization. Inclusion is a pr stunt plain and simple.

Hope you get some kind of response. When I raised an issue about bullying to my HR REP, the result was lots of air from my people leader who appointed people to positions, and then told me unlike my PEERS I had to interview for a position…HR told me after the meeting I should at least be glad I’m employed and getting a paycheck.

The real RAPID model that was deployed was to rapidly demoralize employees and HOPE they leave on their own.

I’ve just become a pawn to get other people promoted by having me report to former grade level peers and you can’t have a person of same grade report to another person…I know…PROMOTE THEM!

Yes I went the HR route, they told me I was imagining the bullying and they didn't think it warranted action. Hr at enbridge are themselves bullies.

Enbridge is a dysfunctional cesspool of many, but not all, backstabbers and bootlickers at the management level. Simple as that

Well I guess out of 10,000 employees there are bound to be a few cry baby's and nothing would ever be right unless they got their way. If you are one of those it is time to move on to find out that's life and things don't aways go your way.

You're right. It isn't normal. It's also not normal for Enbridge. But with over ten thousand employees, you might run into one. The measure is how the company responds when HR channels are used. Did you attempt to go that route? If not, I'm not sure how much sympathy you'll garner here.
