Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Here are some solutions

  1. Get rid of the entire upper management. Replace them with people who care about the company and not only with how to enrich themselves.
  2. Make sure people are promoted based on merit and not nepotism and cronyism, for obvious reasons.
  3. Start treating employees like valued assets instead of easily replaceable placeholders. If employees don't care, customers will notice. If employees don't know what they're doing because they haven't been trained and are expected to pick things up on their own, customers will notice. If employees stay here an average of few months (if that long,) customers will notice. Happy employee = good employee = good customer service = more customers.

Not that I expect to see any of this come to fruition, of course.

I liked the presidents answer when a reporter asked why some businesses like Macy's are having trouble hiring people and he whispered "pay them more". Instead we spend days each week celebrating Pride, attending Diversity and Inclusion Training, talking about social and civil issues because if you can't pay your workers, you an at least appear to me a "woke" company. If JG and the board really cared about diversity and inclusion they would match what other retailers are paying their people. Instead we pay less than most retailers and fast food places, it's embarrassing when people hear what they are going to be making and they laugh at us.

I absolutely agree. The so called Macys magic and the ones really putting in all the work for this company are the sales and support people plus managers who actually care but yet they are the first ones to go while these suit wearers in their air conditioned office keeps their job with little to no work and making stupid decisions. It's about time the top dogs get the boot.

The company has gone steadily downhill since JG took over from TL as CEO. Nice guy I met him a few years ago but the results and morale are just not there. I know the stock price is better but look at these stores. The former CTO of MTech as predicted left the company after 5 years where he implemented his cuts of our Field Service staff and other changes. These people make their mark and then move on. The other President of Stores left for Tractor Supply and is doing really well. I’ve seen bad decision after bad decision over the years and it will cost Macy’s several stores closing.

Simple why they don’t treat you right. They don’t care about you and you are replaceable. As for a raise that won’t happen cause the ceo wants his bonus on the back of your blood sweat and tears. Open your own biz. Give your own biz blood sweat and tears. Ef Macy’s

All of this has ben suggested a thousand times. The CEO should have been shown the door years ago just from his lousy business results, lousy insight and foresight and especially for his lack of appreciation and nurturing of a team and individuals' expertise and talent. People are pebbles on a beach to him. Stink rolls downhill. Why is he still there?

Stop nickel and diming your employee's.
Pay them, Give them Raises, Give them incentives to work for you.
There used to be a carrot at the end of the stick,
Now they removed the carrot and Just Beat you with the Stick.
