Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Are they even trying to avoid layoffs?

I consider the last year, or even two, to be a waste of time here, and I am sorry that I have made any effort. I'm sorry I ever put 1 percent effort into this company. Why? Because this company does not put even 1 percent of the effort to save jobs. Loyalty, hard work, engagement and everything else is worthless here. When it comes to making cost cuts they are relentless.

The most insulting part of the layoff call was the pretense that Thomson Reuters was forced to do it: because TR is "pivoting" from being a holding company to an operating company, difficult choices must be made. That's a non-sequitur. The money TR saved by trashing 25% of its employees so it could give them fractional raises was not enough to stave off those "difficult choices"?

See, I think the TAP assets are actually great - we have some great products and customer loyalty. But we have a call center with sh---y leadership and low pay, leadership we can’t trust, and sales reps that are incentivized to be selfish and not think of the good of the customer. We need good leadership again. We’ve taken such a beating and morale cannot improve as it stands. It’s sickening how we’re treated.

No, they actively look to fire people these days. Labor is sh-t, but cheaper overseas.

If they actually find suckers to buy the T&A assets I will be amazed.
