Up and running now (after 6 days)!
When I worked in Sears IT, we were running a number of unsupported versions of critical apps, both on mainframe and distributed platforms. I can't imagine they have the budget to correct that. Add to that all the layoffs of associates who knew how to fix problems this doesn't surprise me in the least. Eddie saved money but then when these apps break and you need help from the vendor, good luck.
No no no... Down systems completely normal. Just have the customer pay cash, it happens all the time, nothing to see here.
I received an email from HR about benefits. The email can’t be retrieved so I called. I was told the system being down is a known issue. Guess that makes it okay.
As a member of the world renowned Trasnformco IT team, please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience. We had overlooked the fact the infrastructure for the 88sears.com application was moved to the basement of the Chicago Ridge store some time ago. With the power finally cut to the store. 88sears.com will not be functional until we can find someone with a big enough pickup to move the equipment to a nearby store. Please be advised we are doing the needful. Kindest regards. - SHI IT Support
@zho It has been five days. Not very prompt.
I can confirm that Walmart IT has hacked our advanced our intranet structure and I guess they did this to try to bring us down. #SearsStrong2021
Just want to ensure everyone that we, the Loss Prevention department are engaged in performing a thorough investigation and will bring prompt resolution. Meanwhile, please keep supporting your local Sears store, our doors are open and we are conducting business as usual.
"""Maybe the IT department wasn't getting paid and walked out."""
What IT department? Many other internal systems are down as well. Have been down since Tuesday. Still no ETA as of 6/19.
Maybe the IT department wasn't getting paid and walked out.
They got hacked again.
