Mutual departure my ar-e.

"Sandy, the board voted to replace you but with full compensation" and "we feel for your personal brand, we could agree to state publicly that this was a decision that we came to together" and "now you woke?"

I think the goal was go do IPO for NAD within 3 years. He wasn't able to accomplish that due to the downturn from the pandemic so he is out. I do think that it was a mutual departure. It just feels different than other times.

Anyone who was around SD at the Orlando event could see this day was coming.

SD never did project an aura of confidence & positivity. Even before the pandemic. Many times he'd come out looking disheveled; with hair out of place, wearing bad sweaters, and speaking with a hoarse voice. This got worse on days where he'd announce financials that were far than stellar.

Then George Floyd happened and SD found his calling. Each week was basically "Heck our company isn't doing that well, but here's some great woke initiatives we can all get behind!"

Meanwhile a lot of us are either laid off, furloughed, or having to pick up the slack from having our teams cut in half each year. We've been yearning to see that silver lining or light at the end of the tunnel, but it's really hard to get that from SD's weekly updates.

I for one am not surprised at his sudden departure, nor sad to see him go.

Probably walk away with millions while destroying the careers of many talented associates along the way! Good riddance!

Staples isn’t relevant any longer and the revolving door is comical! SD just padded his retirement account since he joined us in 2017. I think he’s pleased to be moving on!

Basically, simply could not plug al the holes in a sinking ship. He has been pushed of the deck. Now looking for another fail once again. SP wants out!

Sycamore is prepping for their next move. Exit/IPO for NAD. Not sure when that will happen with the mountain of debt they’ve put upon the company.

They want to buy Office Depot retail. That will combine with Staples retail and then either head to bankruptcy or another sale.

We’re making money in NAD but not getting a raise to match cost of living expenses. Despicable.

All of us who work here are just pawns for the owners ready to cash out.

What are they doing? I liked SD.

It is a shame that Sycamore did not remove SD and JH sooner. They waited until the majority of the best leaders were RIF’d or left on their own accord. It is now clear why SD was not chosen to lead Coke, and I will never understand why JH was brought it. She was a tone deaf, clueless bully that bragged on herself while criticizing others, and she did nothing but accelerate the destruction of Staples’ once strong culture.

Farewell Mr. Woke and Ms. Joke!

I think it is far from shocking and not a good look for Staples. Their revolving door is tiring.

Good decision, I wish him well.

JD needs to go too.

This means we won't be getting our woke emails every Friday. I'm sure everyone is disappointed.
