ETA on new hires?

I know the new hiring system is slowing things down but cheese and rice how much longer will we remain so understaffed??

Not sure if it's a store by store thing but does anyone with insight on the hiring process know when we'll start getting more people on the sales floor? July? August?

When a coworker and I talked to our mgr about needing more help she said to call her and she’ll help us or we can ask employees from other areas to help us. We said okay.

Newly hired sales associates will eventually be required to do more than just cashiering. They will need to get credit apps or bronze enrollment, get clients, call or text these clients to buy something, presale for almost every store event, do fulfillment, and put merchandise back. This list is just in the clothing areas. All of that for $9/hr.? Big ticket areas do this list and more for hourly plus like 1-3% commission. They are underpaid too.

The associate discount, ability to enroll in 401k, opportunity for advancement, an occasional raise, modern store environment, great merchandise, team culture, and earning Macy’s Money can make up for the lower starting pay compared to other places, right?

$11-$12 definitely not a living wage in CA!

What is the average new hire sales associate wage at Macy’s?

Whoever is applying now is straight out of high school and don't know better. Who wants to work for those low wages?

Even if we did have applicants, this new system makes it impossible to get people hired efficiently. Takes damn near a week to get through all the errors for everything. And that’s for 1 person.

Some new hires and probably a younger applicant find out that Macy’s isn’t tech savvy enough for their abilities and career aspirations.

There aren’t many people willing to work for the wages Macy’s wants to pay, not to mention the conditions.

The applicant flow doesn’t exist because the actual stores, merchandise, pay, benefits, and career path are not appealing to people anymore.

We currently have 33 open positions but the applicant flow is non existent.

Normal store hours at some stores include 11-8 on Sunday and 10-10 Thursday through Saturday. These extended hours are not needed at Macy’s anymore.

It's the new world of retail. Minimal coverage to reduce payroll costs.

I was wondering that too. And when will go back to normal store hours? We must have a full staff so that we can have 2 shifts of associates
