why is the supplementary round jobs list so large? are these real jobs or just token jobs to make people think they have a chance?

Vast numbers of people taking the severance package is making the list pretty long.
It is only natural to replace you with a half cost person if he/she can do the same job at the same level. You did not deserve the promotion/ compensation in the first place. You can not avoid the outcome by not training others
Getting a “promotion” is literally the worst situation to be in within a run-off company. You are essentially training your replacements to do your job at half the salary as they consolidate.
A lot of the jobs are to replace people who got promotions in the main round. There are still quite a few of these that have preferred candidates.
Interesting, so is it best to ask if jobs have a preferred candidate?
In the original round, they failed to include a lot of the roles where current employees took a severance package.
In my particular case, I applied for 5 jobs during reshape MRR and the discipline leads wanted me in a role outside of my 5 selections last minute. Thus have to apply in SRR, but have already been told which role they want me to apply to. Thus even though the role is posted there is a preferred candidate.
surprised me as well, there can't be that many people without a job after the main round..i may be wrong though
