Yes I know this is like beating a dead horse,,BUT it really seems like Boeing leadership is driving the company straight into the toilet,,All of there typical catch phrases are used up and not believed by anyone who has been around for a while,,but what I am really getting concerned over is the fact that at this point there is ZERO effort to try to turn the ship around or get the planes built,,seems like they should be desperately working with all hands on deck ,,,( mandatory O/T ) but it's slow as he'll with no overtime at all. Seems as though they are driving the company into bankruptcy or destroying things before IAM CONTRACT...it's getting scary.what are your thoughts.

In 2019, the ratio of CEO-to-typical-worker compensation was 320-to-1 under the realized measure of CEO pay; that is up from 293-to-1 in 2018 and a big increase from 21-to-1 in 1965 and 61-to-1 in 1989.Aug 18, 2020
Boeing and Airbus Meet New Competition:
Their Own Used Planes

Boeing VS Airbus, The Aviation Industry’s Changing Power Balance:
As long as Boeing is producing commercial aircraft there will be buyers.
If for no other reason, Airbus cannot keep up with future demand.
Other reasons such as the fleet legacy’s concerns of maintenance,
pilot training, and pilot availability (Pilots Trained in that Aircraft Type)
will continue to drive sales moving forward.
But make no mistake,
Airbus is now the number one commercial aircraft company in the world.
Through customer service and quality, Airbus earned that title.
Through avarice greed, incompetence and a contempt of humanity
Boeing has earned the number two spot on the world stage.
And, is only holding that number two spot because there is no other
aircraft manufacturing companies with global reach, at this time…

I doubt you could ever get a security clearance and work in the defense industry if you spent time working in China. I doubt that contract job last more than a year or 2. If you’re planning to retire soon would probably be OK.

For all of those who have been paying attention, you know
Boeing’s Wall Street Managers have already distorted the company
Boeing leadership_? Where!!!!
Leadership in Boeing is as rare as hen’s teeth.
Leadership requires critical thinking which disrupts the party line lie.
No one with critical thinking skills ever rises to a position that could,
effect change.
The very idea of Boeing leadership is simply the Kool-add at work.
Are you kidding? Not me. I am not a traitor.
Just a survey to see the opinion .
In CJhunter website, there's lots of aerospace design jobs located in China, just wonder anyone would consider to work in China if they pay you with good pay and the chance to travel and experience lifestyle. Some of US-based contractors worked for the aerospace companies like Airbus, Bombardier, Embraer and lived in the country where their facilities are located but none or very few ever try in China
There’s not a lot of experienced contractors anymore to pull from. The defense industry has been declining for decades. And Boeing management in their wisdom does not want to hire many contractors.
So where do you get an experienced pool of contact employees to pull from when you need them? You don’t it doesn’t exist. It’s not like the old days when you could hire very competent experienced contract employees who had 30 years of experience working at large defense contractors.
No problem I understand,,,I'm a union guy and have zero faith in boeing anymore and I am even more fed up with them forcing all the non value added BS down our throats when they should be fixing real issues,, I have also only been working 8 then the gate,,,but there is no overtime available when there should be an open checkbook to get things done ,,,so it shows me that they don't want to do what's needed and this is very wierd,,,OH and to your point ,if they didn't pay me for every second I was there I would never stay over 8 and would be looking for other employment,,,I am concerned that we will all be looking at retirement or a job search soon.
Sorry, my fault. I took "IAM CONTRACT" for "I am a contractor". In this case I have to correct my comment and, if you are a direct employee, not getting paid for OT hours, like most of us, then you are a very dedicated man that truly cares about Boeing. However you cannot force others to spend their "family time" working for free for the crooks at the top of the company. It's OK if you do.
I still mantain my comment about contractors. And I was one of them... But I always worked my a$$, felt really tired after the 8 hours (because I was working my a$$ and not cruising thru the day) and never wanted the damn OT. Not worth it. But I am an exception in that regard.
I never said I was a contractor,,I meant boeing is screwing things up before the new iam contract probably to use things against us,,,all people should be working as much as they can to build the planes but they don't let us work any O/T when they should be doing everything possible to get things done,,but seems to me like they are purposely running the company into a ditch.
Contractors at Boeing are a joke and most are total Scam Artist. Most Contractors just want to bill more hours. They constantly complain about how they got it sooo bad and not getting any holidays off or having to purchase their own medical insurance. Well excuse me but I got to pay for my and my kids Medical Insurance too, which McD constantly ups the rates and reduces overall coverage. Contractors never want to mention the time and a half overtime rate they get. These contractor bozos knew what they were getting into so suck it up and STFU and Work. I haven't seen a Contractor yet who can cut it. I have worked at three Boeing sites. Washington State, St Louis and now Alabama. I would have never left Seattle since I am a native but my Boeing d-mba$$ manager sprung it on me that I had a week to decide to move to St Louis on my own dime or get layed off. I spent two and a half years in St Louis and that place royally sucks. Not just working at McDonnell Douglas there that has a corrosive culture but also St Louis as a whole. St Louis is a dangerous city and the public schools there suck. My kids are now behind academically and did not like it there either. St Louis has a boat load of Contractors working there because McDonnell Douglas can not find many people willing to work for them and move to St Louis. I can not fault anyone not wanting to move there after being in St Louis for two and a half years until I finally got the heck out of there. The contractors I had to deal with in St Louis were third tier. They jump to other companies so much because their contracts are not usually extended after 6 months or they get released earlier.
Mandatory OT?
I can barely stand working my 8 hours a day being bombarded by SJW BNN stories. At least 40% of Boeing news has NOTHING to do with building planes
Ever since Jim McIrney took over as CEO the focus of leader ship has been on stock buybacks and bonuses for the CEO and board.
It was his decision to go forward with the 737 max instead of a new airplane. It was his decision to focus on the 777X which has few customers instead of a new 737 replacement.
Worst CEO in the company history.
He said that he is a contract. He can't care less about Boeing getting back on its feet. He wants unlimited OT, paid 1.5 x regular pay, not to do s&it like many other contracts but just sit there all day to log as many hours as possible. No OT for you! Now get the job done during the regular 8-hours or get out.
You sound like a manager with your talk about needing mandatory overtime. Well you can stick mandatory O/T up your bu$$. I'm not willing to work one second more than my 8 hours at McDonnell Douglas. I'm going to spend my free time coaching my boys playing baseball.
