I've heard we might have more cuts before the month is over, is this true?

Former Aramcon here laid off in the last big culling a year ago. Since then, there have been five American expats that I know personally who have been "quietly" laid off. So layoffs are still very much happening but there will not be any big head chops like a year ago and this info is from one of my good friends in HR who is still around and has direct knowledge of the situation.
All in all, getting laid off from Aramco was truly the best thing that happened to me. I enjoyed my time in the Kingdom but my wife is way happier now and I have landed on my feet and found a solid, well-paying job (but nowhere near that Aramco paycheck). I found working there to be extremely suffocating and frustrating due to the strange internal politics at the company. I do wish the Saudis well though. They are a great bunch of people.
I dont see any layoffs happening in the foreseeable future - at least not for a couple to few years. For multiple factors. Too many people here (probably no longer employees) telling you otherwise.
The question you should ask, the same question I ask myself, is the money worth the environment and degradation of your career progression. If you're happy, you're set, dont worry about layoffs. If you find money isnt worth the environment, you should look at it from that prospective. All these years, moneys always been worth it for me, until now. At this point, Im just waiting and watching if things improve. If things keep going as is, ill be looking at options myself. My age is the critical factor, I dont want to stay too long and environment stays the same or degrades and I've become "Aramconized" and afraid to move on. Im seeing lots of people in my department choosing to move on for various reasons.
You do realize that the reason they “seek your counsel” is insurance for them that if what they intend doing proves wrong or useless, you as an expat are the sacrificial lamb thrown to the wolves to explain why you counseled such an action. You probably didn’t intend that, but don’t be surprised if what you counseled is taken completely out of context and applied inappropriately. Be very careful what letters you “initial” as an expat, because for all the Saudi initials and signature, you own any potential problem, whilst they own any success and recognition.
Nobody needs your blow heart advice or counseling, especially since you cannot even use the correct words to express your baloney. No Saudis are chasing you down for your guidance, not unless you can bend over and take everything they have to offer.
Funny, that's why I have a steady stream of young Saudis seeking my council on the right course of action day in and day out. I am happy to share my 30 years of global experience with them. I challenge you to name one legitimate oil company who does not use expats. Its ok, Google it, I will wait.
They don’t need you. Who are you kidding?
They don't need to. Everyone is leaving.
I don't think so, with current attrition there is not need for layoffs.
They’re blanketing Houston and for what. Nobody’s going to uproot their family like that for uncertainty. Whatever Aramco used to be it isn’t employer of choice anymore. It’s the assignment of last resort. Congratulations.
Heard very similar chatter Roger...
“ VP is getting angry, he said he wants 5 signed off resumes every day!”
Seems they couldn’t find their ar2e in a sand storm with both hands!!!

Massive recruitment drive happening in aramco. It’s complete panic stations now. The workload is that huge that VPs are bypassing hiring team and reviewing/onboarding candidates themselves. For pmt alone, they need 100 new employees, with minimum 25% expats! That’s more than the current proportion of expats currently in the company (10-20%). Resumes are coming from all over the world via the aramco website.
They’re also looking to re-hire PMCs that they layed off last years! It’s feast or famine at aramco.
I don’t think there will be much. I asked to be laid off a couple months ago and was told there weren’t anymore for our area.
Any info about possible cuts would be appreciated.
