Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Do you have a "just in case" plan?

Even if you consider yourself safe, you should have a "just in case" plan ready for possible future layoffs. A coworker who was certain he had nothing to worry about was laid off a few months ago. To say he was unprepared would be an understatement. I have no intention to end up like him, and neither should you. If nothing else start sending out resumes just to get a feel for what is available. That's the least you can do (and you should be doing much more.)

You don’t want just Teradata on your resume or it will look like the innovative and growth companies are not interested. Write down the top 5 companies you want to work for and pursue them. Life is too short to settle.

Don’t wait… it is not about your skills or your ability. It is about how you show up in a spreadsheet and the final P&L. Seen it too many times…

Also take any interviews you can get, even at companies you don't really want to work for, just for the practice.
