I mean… planned obsolescence is a business tactic, yes. A deceitful one, but par for the course with all technology development. As long as the next product is ready and is a legit improvement.
The backlog of manufacturing and global computer chip shortages plus logistics problems has not gone away. Inventory- will there be enough? Gotta have merchandise to sell. Hard to plan a comeback when the star of the show might not be available. Good luck stalling for time I guess??

No one is buying Fossil, but it's employees and those consumers overseas....get over it already. No one is looking for a company to fail...
The 'technology share' was always a part of the original sale...
The facts are, that there are plenty of other watchmakers (that can obtain the SAME tech...mind you) with names/branding that most would rather wear because they stand for something and definitely have a better Corporate culture!
GREAT NEWS!! It means that the new Gen 6 based on the new Google/Samsung collaborations will have a radically new UI and that Fossil will be able to use the software for its product range and also that those who want to upgrade will be forced to ditch their old gen watches and get new once which means more sales and $$$ for the company.
